Processor

The CPU, as it’s referred to is the brain of the entire machine, they’re are many options from the two brands INTEL and AMD.

Core count, PCIe lanes, clock speed. These are the main attributes that help us decide which one we pick for our intended use

You will also need a CPU cooler. Whether that is air or liquid is up to you, just keep in mind of the dimensions.

Graphics Card

The GPU or graphics card is the hardware designed to process and render the graphical content in your games and videos. It is also capable of encoding and decoding streaming content. For example a Twitch Stream. This part is usually the most expensive part of any build.

RAM

RAM or Memory as it’s referred to is the component that allows programs/applications to load, making them available to the CPU. The more RAM you have the more applications you can have running. The typical PC has 8GB however, for those looking to game or edit 16 - 32 GB would be more appropriate.

Motherboard

Your motherboard is the knot that ties everything together. It is very easy to over spend on a motherboard so we will guide you to the right product for your needs. Your CPU, GPU, RAM and storage all connect to this piece of the puzzle.

Power Supply

Your power supply (PSU) quite literally powers all of the components. Each component has a average and max power draw. Meaning we need to make sure we can supply enough power to everything. It’s always a good idea to over spec this to allow for headroom and upgradability.

CASE

Your Case. Probably one of the most aesthetic choices for a prospective builder. Although dimensions should be considered to ensure everything fits in perfectly and isn’t so cumbersome that it takes up too much room either on or next to your desk space.

This is a good time to check whether or not you need extra cooling fans. Some Cases come with factory fans, though you may choose to add extra or replace them entirely.
